Snow shovel racing
Snow shovel racing started in the 1970s at a ski resort in New Mexico after lift operators grew tired of taking lifts down the mountain after a day's work. They started sliding down slopes on snow shovels and eventually created a race, and the sport blossomed. Championships are held each February at Angel Fire Resort.
